Framing up and preparation . . .

Framing up on a mini slate frame

Love this frame!

Design transfer onto a blue indigo twill furnishing fabric using a silver gel pen

Design number one

Design number two

I did plan to work these two designs separately, and on plain natural coloured linen, however, I found this fabric in a furnishing fabric shop in Benton in Newcastle upon Tyne (north east England) - Absolutely Fabrics, and thought - Yes - I will try this instead!

I also had to hand, this lovely hand-crafted mini slate-frame - used, but ideal for my next project.

Now ready to start . . . when I have time . . .

    1. Yes, the fabric alone inspires me! I should take you to "Absolutely Fabrics" next time you're here in Durham.

  2. Hi Tracy the fabric is lovely especially the herringbone effect with the two tone colour. Did you use pounce powder or some other method for the transfer?

    1. Hello Melanie - I actually used carbon paper, but I could have used pounce, and then I used a gel pen. Hope this helps.

  4. For stitchers in the US, Access Commodities is distributing small frames that accommodate 8" and 12" wide fabric cuts. Check Hedgehog Hand works or Needle-in-a-Haystack. Both of these carry a wide range of AC products. I plan to carry these on my online shop. The 8" frame is especially nice to hold in hand while out and about or waiting in doctors' offices.
